How about smaller law schools such as Southwestern Law School or Western State University College of Law? Are they any good? If I want to become a judge later on, will the smaller school suffice or should I try to get into a better law school?
The better the school the more opportunities will be available to you. However, what school you're able to get into will depend a lot on your grades, whether or not you currently reside in CA, what type of law you plan to practice, and several other factors.
You are correct, UCLA, USC, and Pepperdine are all very good schools. Pepperdine is private so it is VERY expensive unless you have been offered a comprehensive scholarship. Stanford in No. CA is also very prestigious and is the West Coast version of an Ivy League school.
I believe Southwestern is pretty decent; haven't heard of Western State. You may want to check with some local attorneys to get their perceptions as well.
Good luck!

i am confused what does the LSAC- The Law School Admission Council do, and LSDAS (Law School Data Assembly Service) do. Do i have to turn in my applications, letter of recomendations, personal statement, etc. to the LSDAS or to the actual law school i am going to??? my other quest., is when applying to a law school they want a LSAT writing sample also, what is that about??? if ur confused, basically what i am asking is where do i have to transfer all my information to, to law school or the LSDAS??
Okay, I am a law student and I will be happy to help you with the process. You can e-mail me at: cyanne2ak@yahoo.com
You need to send your transcripts to LSAC, as well as your letters of recommendation. You must register with them to take the LSAT. You do NOT have to use LSAC to submit your applications, however I highly recommend using them! Almost ALL law schools in the USA accept (and many require) that you submit your application online through the LSAC. Also, many of them waive the application fee if you do so. When you take the LSAT, at the end of the test you will have to answer a question with an essay. Kaplan has the best LSAT prep books, USE THEM. When you are accepted to a law school you will have to send them official transcripts to confirm that you did recieve your undergraduate degree, etc. If you have any more questions, please e-mail me. I understand the confusion.

The LSAC Omniform Plug In will not work in both Firefox aor the new Internet Explorer. I was able to get it to download into my hardrive and could access the omniform examples from a website. Is this an LSAC thing–Help! Their FAQ doesn't help.

It's 4th Tier. Not very prestigious. About as low as you can go while still being ABA accredited.
That said, it's still in Chicago. Location gives it some advantages in terms of visibility and alumni network for internships and jobs.
